The essay wants to investigate the weight of Manganelli’s inheritance on the contemporary genre of autofiction, which owes, in his constitutive melting of truth and fiction, to the ideas expressed in the essays of Letteratura come menzogna. Particularly, are analized in the novel Due vite by Emanuele Trevi the aspects of contamination only apparently linear of biografical data with narration; and of diffused intertextuality which makes world much similar to a savant game, of «compilazioni tra manovalesche e fratesche». However, if game it is, it’s a very serious game: Manganelli’s theme of death and underworld (La palude definitiva) reappears into the common destiny of Trevi’s characters.
