Abstract

This article explores the intermedial narratives of Sara Poma, focusing on two of her main projects: the podcast Prima (2021), dedicated to the complex identity story of Maria Silvia Spolato, the first woman to publicly come out in an Italian square in 1972 and later an Lgbt rights activist, and the subsequent book Il coraggio verrà (2023). The analysis focuses on the relationships between medium, storytelling, and the construction of identity, both authorial and of Spolato’s character, integrating interviews and other contents that enrich and complement the podcast and the book in a transmedial perspective.
